PROJECT NO ONE LEAVES - MIAMI

During the foreclosure crisis, the Community Justice Project launched Project No One Leaves - Miami and worked with community partners PICO and the Miami Workers Center to educate tenants in foreclosed multifamily buildings in low-income neighborhoods. The Project advised tenants of their rights and advocated for policy changes.  More than one thousand individual tenant households were canvassed.  The project was inspired by the work of Boston's City Life/Vida Urbana and the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau.

CJP also partnered with Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., to provide eviction defense to low-income tenants living in foreclosed rental properties with severe habitability problems or water shut offs due to the landlords failure to pay.
